10 Scriptures To Be Rooted In

“Sustain me, my God, according to your promise, and I will live; do not let my hopes be dashed.” (Psalm 119:116 NIV)

No matter how great or horrific your circumstances are or may become you have the opportunity to remain filled with an unshakable hope that comes from your unfailing, perfect Father in Heaven. May you as a Child of The King allow His promises to shield you, encourage you, bring you joy and sustain you through all seasons of life.

“For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.” (Proverbs 24:16 NIV)

The power of God lies within you to boldly rise when you fall short in life. Be encouraged to cling to His mighty hand and rise up in faith accepting the gift that is His grace.

“Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” (John 13:7 NIV)

In this verse, Jesus was responding to a question asked by one of his disciples, Peter. Peter was having his feet washed by Jesus and couldn’t wrap his mind around why He was doing such a thing! Often in our lives we ask Jesus the same questions. Jesus, what are you doing right now in my life? Why are you allowing this to happen to me? Why now? We can use this verse as a profound reminder that nothing we experience in life ever lacks meaning. Encourage one another to trust in the plan Jesus has for each of our lives knowing that He is good. Cling to the promise that there is purpose for every detail of our lives regardless of understanding.

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can up endure it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV)

Fear not, in times of temptation you are given the power to eagerly seek the freedom God provides you. With the guidance of God, you will defeat temptations in His name strengthening you greatly in the process.

“In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help.” (Psalm 18:6 NIV)

When you cry out for help, God sends His Holy Spirit to meet you with comfort. He doesn’t expect you to handle this life alone! He wants His children to call on Him for help so He can defeat the works of the enemy and carry each of us into safety to bring joyus restoration to our souls.

“For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. Out of all the peoples on the face of the earth, the Lord has chosen you to be his treasured possession.” (Deuteronomy 14:2 NIV)

The world persistently pushes false identities upon us. Stand strong, your value and worth is in Christ Jesus! We each are treasured and chosen by Him, The King above all Kings!

“He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” (Psalm 91:4 NIV)

God’s abundant love for us is an overwhelming reality. Be encouraged to take a moment and absorb the visual this scripture provides! How astounding is it to be reminded of His unfailing love, grace and protection?

“Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.” (Romans 12:19 NIV)

Allow peace to fill your heart as all schemes from the enemy fall away in the renewal of assurance that your God is a just God. He will handle your heart and deal with all those who have hurt you.

“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.” (1 Peter 5:8-9 NIV)

Because of his sacrifice for us, when you submit ourselves to Him, we get to fiercely claim spiritual authority over the enemy. As each of us choose to cling near to God, He will cling near to us.

“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God.” (Ephesians 6:13-17 NIV)

May we choose to dress in the Armor of God daily. Be encouraged to call on the spirit of God to rise up in you as you step out in great faith onto the battlefield of life here on Earth. His mercies are new every morning, His strength will become your strength, and His mighty Armor will protect your heart from attacks of the enemy. Children of The King, grow in confidence today knowing that the battles won for His Kingdom here on earth through your faithful fight will bless generations to come.
