12 Verses on Leadership

As leaders, we need to know what the Bible says about leadership. The verses chosen reflect how we can lead better, Christ’s model for leadership, or how we can serve others well.

 

Lead well.

  1. Philippians 2:3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves...

  2. Luke 6:31"Treat others the same way you want them to treat you.

  3. Matthew 20:26 "It is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant...

  4. Proverbs 11:14 Where there is no guidance the people fall, But in abundance of counselors there is victory.

  5. Psalms 78:72 So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, And guided them with his skillful hands.

  6. Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, But when a wicked man rules, people groan.

  7. Exodus 18:21 Furthermore, you shall select out of all the people able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; and you shall place these over them as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens.

  12. Hebrews 13:17 Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you.
